Today's peek features some more fantastic new images and papers. For this card I used the new Modern Wood Block and Dill images. I also added the oak leaves and maple images you saw yesterday. I left a sentiment off this card so it could be used for any purpose. I used a Paprika notecard (which quickly became a favorite of mine!) and the new mango shimmer couture paper. It's really hard to capture the shimmer in a photo but trust me, it's wonderfully shimmery!! To top it all off, I added some cranberry pearls.

It's that time again!! Amuse-bouche week for the new A Muse release. This release is jam packed with some serious must-haves and you might as well get it all at once cuz you're going to want it all in the end. Today's menu features some new wood mounted images as well as our new shimmer couture papers. Delicious!! Did you notice something else, too? Yup, pearls. P*E*A*R*L*S, people!! Eye Candy

I recently had to send my Slice off for repair but managed to cut this fun little candy with it before I did. Now if I had some cellophane I would have wrapped it up to look like real candy but I'm out. No time to get more. I'm getting ready to leave for a little trip back East to visit some family and a wedding. I'm so excited to see everyone as the last time back there was for a funeral in 2001. That's what we've come to....gatherings for weddings and funerals. My aunts and uncles are aging and experiencing health issues so I felt it was important for me to attend this wedding so I could spend some time with them while they still remember who I am and I can keep wonderful images of them in my heart. It's going to be a good trip.

This past weekend was spent celebrating my oldest son's 13th birthday. We took 8 boys out to the corn maze on Saturday night for a little adventure. We had a wonderful bonfire with smores and I don't think anyone missed having birthday cake. Lots and lots of fun. Here's a pic of all the boys. They are all so silly! Most of these kids have been friends since kindergarten. It has been so much fun watching them grow up together.

Anyway, don't know if I'll have time to get another post up before I leave but I'll be sure to share some pics when I get back. I'm sure the scenery in those NC mountains will be gorgeous!!

Hero Arts Holiday Dolls

I ordered a set of the 3 holiday dolls from Hero Arts while they were taking pre-orders and they arrived not too long ago. I just think they are so adorable, especially cause they're Asian like me. I plan on using them for my Christmas cards to my Japanese relatives. I also recently picked up a 6x6 pad of Holly Jolly by Cosmo Cricket at my LSS. Cute paper!! For this card I used an A Muse Blush 4-bar notecard, layered the patterned paper onto some teal cardstock, then added the rest of the details. The trees were punched using a Paper Shapers tree punch out of some A Muse patterned cardstock. I used a multiliner pen to outline the trees. The little girl was colored with Copics. You can't see it but there is that Pink Paislee coconut glitter I've been talking about along the top edge of the snow. Fun, don't you think?

Still a master at procurement

Look at all this scrumptious ribbon! Lasting Memories had a special purchase event that started on Labor Day and I'm sure will last as long as supplies do (but you might check with the store). Next to A Muse ribbon, American Crafts ribbon is a favorite of mine. I love the colors, patterns, and quality of the ribbon AC offers. I went a little crazy but......

I used some of the ribbon!

I knew I had to get some of this lovely, elegant holiday ribbon and immediately knew what I wanted to create with it. This just might be my Christmas card for 2009. I usually try not to use bulky ribbon on cards I'm mailing so I'll probably use A Muse ribbon on any that I need to send but for those I can present the card to in person, I think this will work fabulously! The stag is one of my favorites of the Amuseapalooza release this year. I used the smallest of my Nestabilities Label 1 dies for the sentiment (from the clear set) and added a touch of color with the red micro twinkle dots. I added some Pink Paislee coconut glitter along the top of the snow but it just doesn't show up in pictures at all.

I'm working on putting together an elegant winter card class for next quarter's schedule at Stampin-In-The-Rain and I imagine this one will show up in that class.

I actually had time to do a lot of creating over this long holiday weekend. I just got my hands on some packs of the new A Muse Twinkle Dots in orange, lime, and black, and wanted to use them. I thought the orange and lime dots would work great with Boris and his concoctions as little bubbles. That could be some potent love potion in there, you know!

Sometimes I scare myself

Stamps: 8-8368B love is in the air ma; Cupcake Builder Clear Set

Okay, I realize that just a few days ago I was promoting Halloween stamps and today I'm posting a Valentine card but hey, you gotta go with what genius hits you! I used a cupcake bottom from the A Muse Cupcake Builder clear set as the basket for my 'hot air balloon' and my Slice to cut the 2" heart. I used a ruler and pen to draw the lines connecting the basket to the balloon. Man, sometimes I scare myself with my geniusness :)
